Destructable gates Empty Destructable gates

This is taken from a NWN server.

In NWN each faction has it's own area, just like this.
They also have gates, same as us.
One difference is that the NWN gates are destructible.

They will take a certain amount of damage before being destroyed and disappearing for a while. I think this would be good for mafia wars on the server. Is it possible to put in the script?

The gates would still be tough though.
It would take explosives, not bullets to destroy.

I have to support this idea.
It could help the gameplay immensly.

Maybe even add an "engineer" job where a person would have to have a specific title to be able to destroy a gate.

Well, I have never scripted anything like this, but in my opinion, this is possible to script. Good idea too.
I think it should be implemented in our script, and I'll do that as soon as possible.

About McLovin's post, engineers destroy gates? Maybe they can be hired to fix them.. but family members can just get bombs ( damn expensive Wink ) and blow up the gates I guess. Or maybe I misunderstood you :S

Anyway, great idea.

Engineers to repair gates oO Mmm not bad! Or they'd have to pay A LOT to buy a brand new one.

Ok. Brainstorm.

Families get an engineer.. Pay him a hell lot. Engineer goes somewhere and gets a gate ( very heavy, so in a truck). The engineer uses a lot of the money for buying the gate. Then he makes a long trip back to the family HQ.. the family is protecting the engineer as much as possible at the moment.. then at the HQ, it takes some time for the gate to be fixed.. the family is still covering the engineer. Then when the tedious job is done, the engineer is payed more for the job well done (or he's killed and the family takes the extra money and his golden watch ;p)

While the engineer is holding the gate in the truck, if another family gets in the truck and stays in it for over 30 seconds, the gate is turned to them and they can use it.
Maybe only other family engineers can "Steal the gate".
Also maybe when in engineer uniform, you can't wear armor.

If the truck is blowned up, gate is lost. Maybe!

Or we could always do /piss infrot a gate, so after some days they go rusty and become easier to break xD.

I think simply buying bombs and blowing the gates would be good. :P

Have a time limit before it respawns like 1 hour or something so you don't have a bunch of dickweeds stealing the family cars every minute.

Why does the gate have to respawn? Let it re appear only once an engineer has replaced it?

We'll try to get 'engineer' to be a job maybe.. Engineers can do other stuff too, so maybe it will be a popular job even.. We'll think about that a bit later though

You don't need to be in your car to shoot at enemies, do you?

Unless you want to drive by, of course, but I doubt mafias drive-by on rivals' HQ.
