Advertisements
Afcourse LS City needs advertisements. But not like the way LS RP did.
The /ads in LS RP was way to unrealistic.
First off all. If you see a /ad in LS RP, dont you think: where did I see it? You hear it from above or you see it on a Building? No! you should have read it in the newspaper.
So here is my suggestion:
There should be an advertisementpaper.
You can buy them ever hour at the 24/7.
Every advertisement will cost 2500 dollar and they will save for 1 hour.
So if you need something or your just curious to the advertisements which has been made the last 1 hour you go to the 24/7 and you buy a advertisementpaper.
If you bought it you should need the command like /showads and the ads will appear just the way like /stats or /help.
I think 8 advertisments each payday will be max because otherwise it will spam like a ....
If you made an advertisement and the hour is over you cant make a new one after another hour because the 8 is the max advertisement so other people also have a change to make advertisements.
What do you guys think?

Re: Advertisements
The problem is, not everyone will read your add within 1 hour.
So I'd say keep the ad for 24 hours at least.
Also, maybe have a center place somewhere in the city where you have a big huge ass TV (like in Times Square NY). This TV could shoot advertisement in chat to whoever is within X meters around.

This is a great idea. We just need to find a suitable place for it.
And maybe you have to ring up someone, or go somewhere to post the ad even ( though cell phone isn't yet implemented, but it will be).
Well, I'd say we don't try to make it too similar to real life.. I mean.. there is a limit to it, that we must not cross. In my opinion, ads should be displayed on the screen the same way, or with a few tweaks, but only the 'how to post an ad' part be changed. But this is only my opinion.
Re: Advertisements
Well yeah.
It is RP but not RL No need to make it like real life on every point.
For the ad, maybe the news agency will own this TV? Or maybe this central TV along with the newspaper can be owned as a business by a player?

Re: Advertisements
this is a good idea but the unrealistic ad service in lsrp has its advantages.
should i buy the newspaper and than pay for the service itself?, ill just spend more and more money.
in RL you dont look for the ad's, the ad's looks for you.
and the lake of resources in SA force the modders to take some non RP decisions and that is the closest you can do for the realism in game.
i think we should keep the old system.

Re: Advertisements
I agree. I like the /ad system.
While we're in vehicle, we could hear it on the radio.
While we're on foot, we could hear it on ads and banners and stuff..
Etc..
Really, keep the /ad thing, but make it WAY more expensive. Like.. $10000 per ad, I think.

Re: Advertisements
What I meant was, the ads will be displayed on the screen as the other servers.. but the way you USE /AD . The 'How to POST an ad' part..
If you want to post an ad, go to the Ad company's office, or to one of it's branches.. or something like that.
Maybe I missed something, but I don't see anything wrong in this. Enlighten me!

Aah, I misunderstood what you meant there. Yeah, that's a great idea, as long as everyone can see it on the screen, and they don't have to go read the newspaper or hear it on T.V. or something. But PLEASE, make it WAY expensivier. Ads are expensive.
Re: Advertisements
Pfft, mere vulgarisation to allow your simplistic minds to comprehend my highly complex sentences.
Re: Advertisements
I think that ads should be done like this:
First, the one who wants to advertise should choose weather to be on the radio, newspaper, or as a billboard.
After that he chooses on which days the ad will be displayed, including the time.
Example:
Might be complex to script. It's up to the scripters to see.

Example:
- Radio, displayed/'heard' on Monday to Friday @ 9:00 AM, for one month. (<- this happend at the particular time when you are in a car only, or maybe shops)
- Newspaper, frontpage (there should be middlepages and backpage), on Saturday only, for one week (if the newspaper have 3 pages it's enoguh. Maybe it is difficult to have 3 pages, in that case, there should be a page with ads only);
- Billboard, Groove Street, duration: 3 months (<- when you enter groove street, the message would be displayed in the chat)
Might be complex to script. It's up to the scripters to see.
